Medicine Buddha (藥師佛)

Bhaisajyaguru is the Buddha of healing and medicine in Buddhism. Commonly described as a doctor who cures suffering using the medicine of his teachings, the image of Bhaisajyaguru is usually expressed with a glazed canonical Buddha-like form with flaming lights.

Different religious sects have different doctrines, even if they worship the same god. The Medicine Buddha in Tibet is typically seen with blue skin, but regular skin in China; he holds a gallipot of medicinal herbs or a five or seven layer pagoda tower to represent purification.
